چکیده

Background: Gender disparities in outcomes after mitral valve surgery are well known. There only few studies reporting the influence of gender on following transcatheter edge to repair (TEER) using MitraClip (MC). In this meta-analysis, we describe by TEER. Methods: Studies specific patients treated with MC were reviewed from January 2010 February 2022. Outcomes evaluated include all-cause mortality, New York Heart Association (NYHA) class, readmission for heart failure and residual regurgitation (MR) at longest follow up. Pooled odds ratio (OR) 95% confidence interval (CI) calculated random effects models. Results: Seventeen 33,747 (19,303 males 14,444 females) included. was no difference mortality (OR: 1.00, CI: [0.90-1.12], p=0.93), MR 0.59, [0.34-1.02], p=0.06) or 1.04, [0.69-1.57], p=0.83). However, NYHA class III/IV more frequent female as compared male end up 0.62, [0.51-0.74], p<0.00001). Conclusions: Our largest date, suggests that have worse NHYA functional TEER without any readmissions when patients.

Endovascular Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair

Background—The edge-to-edge technique is an accepted method for the surgical repair of a regurgitant mitral valve. This study reports the initial use of an endovascular technology that enables a double-orifice edge-to-edge mitral valve repair without cardiopulmonary bypass in an animal model. Methods and Results—Adult pigs (n 14) were anesthetized, and left thoracotomy was performed for epicard...

Acute Mitral Regurgitation Secondary to Papillary Muscle Tear: Is Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair a New Paradigm?

Severe mitral regurgitation (MR) secondary to papillary muscle tear is an infrequent but overwhelmingly morbid and often fatal complication of acute myocardial infarction occurring in 1% to 3% of patients. In-hospital mortality without surgical correction can approach 80%; however, even with surgical correction, papillary muscle tear carries a mortality rate between 19% and 53%. While considera...

percutaneous mitral valve repair with the edge-to-edge technique: case series of first iranian experience

mitral regurgitation (mr) is a common valvular lesion in the general population with considerable impact on mortality and morbidity. the mitraclip system (abbot laboratories, abbot park, il, usa) is a novel percutaneous approach for treating mr which involves mechanical edge-to-edge coaptation of the mitral leaflets. we present our initial experience with the mitraclip system in 5 patients. in ...

Pulmonary Hemorrhage following Edge-to-Edge Mitral Valve Repair

Mitral valve repair with the MitraClip device has emerged as an effective treatment option for patients with severe mitral regurgitation and contraindications for surgical interventions. While the procedure is not known to cause pulmonary complications, we describe two cases of pulmonary hemorrhage following percutaneous mitral valve repair. The patients did well with supportive care and reinit...

The edge-to-edge technique for mitral valve repair

The edge-to-edge technique was introduced in the surgical armamentarium of mitral valve repair in 1991 and has progressively been used to restore mitral competence in the setting of degenerative, post-endocarditis and functional mitral regurgitation. Appropriate indications and awareness of the important technical aspects of the procedure are prerequisites for a good outcome. The free edges of ...
